Pilot Program Recap
Spring 2026
This past spring quarter, CONNECT ran its pilot program with a
small group of students dedicated to reducing social isolation in
aging populations. After going through training, we started our
visits in partnership with Westside Pacific Villages, and so far
we've received immense positive feedback on the impact of our
social visits.
We hope to expand CONNECT next school year, so keep an eye out for
applications this fall, or reach out to us now to express your
interest in joining.
I had an amazing day. After we exchanged a little bit about each
other, I asked her if she would help me draw a picture of my
childhood home. I was in awe, for the next hour and a half —
as I visualized my home, I would talk about each room and door,
every bit of the home as I remember it. She would draw, and draw,
and draw.
Thank you for your amazing gift of drawing my childhood home. The
drawing means so much to me. In 1951, when I lived in this house,
there was no electricity, running water, or cell phones, and I did
not own a camera — so it was so wonderful that you could be
drawing from what I was remembering of my home. Please know I'm
very grateful for this gift.
